This scholarship was first established as a tribute to our brother, David Scott. A paraplegic from birth, David graduated Phi Theta Kappa from Pima Community College in 1979 and was a senior at the University of Arizona at the time of his death in 1981. David enjoyed the open and inclusionary atmosphere at PCC, which lent invaluable support to the daily challenges he faced.

In 2013, at the passing of our father, Lee Scott, we extended this scholarship tribute by adding his name. Lee was a founding faculty member of Pima Community College and a Faculty Emeritus. He was a staunch supporter of his students and their success and fought tirelessly for inclusion for all wanting to attend PCC.

Contributing to this scholarship fund will underline David and Lee’s legacy and empower students who are searching for financial support to further their educational goals.

The Scott sisters, Nancy and Sue, thank you for your generosity!

Criteria of the semester awards include:

  • PCC students enrolled full-time or part-time in any field of study
  • Demonstrates financial need
  • Student applicants with special needs will be given priority consideration.

Monies from this scholarship may be used for educational expenses planned or incurred at Pima Community College.
