The Honors Program Fund supports student projects that make a positive impact at the College and within the Tucson Community. Donations to this fund directly support these efforts though purchasing supplies, paying permit fees, securing equipment rentals, and other logistical considerations. Our largest and longest standing event that benefits from this fund is RISE (Resources, Information, Services, and Education) for Homeless Veterans, which began in 2017 when a group of Honors Students decided to address food and housing insecurity among veterans in the Tucson area. Volunteers provided a hot meal, non-perishable food items, new and gently used clothing, toiletries, haircuts, information from community resources, and more to guests at the Downtown Campus. Since that first event, RISE continues each year over Spring Break at the Downtown Campus. Help us continue to make RISE and other projects like it a success as we grow the next generation of leaders within the program!
