After a short summer break, Pima Voices is back and ready to bring you even more stories of that connect, thrive and explore the Tucson community.
Hosted by me, Savannah, this podcast was born from the belief that every voice matters and every story has the power to inspire. For me personally, Pima Voices isn’t just about conducting interviews, it’s about meeting new people, listening, celebrating triumphs, and sharing the lived experiences that make Pima Community College the heart of Tucson.
When people ask me about the podcast, tend to say my favorite moments are the unexpected ones: when a guest’s eyes light up as they reflect on how far they’ve come, or when an alumnus shares the moment they realized their life could change, the laughter, the smiles and the fact I end a session with a new friend. Those conversations are what keep me coming back behind the mic.
It’s been a year since Pima Voices has launched and I am looking back at some of my favorite guests, which let’s be honest is pretty much everyone!
Alumni like Diana Cadena, whose path from Pima classrooms to Arizona Public Media led her to an Emmy award and a thriving career in visual storytelling. And Jessica Cox, who is proving that a disability can be your superpower as the world’s first armless pilot.
Faculty voices like Gina Santaniello, who went from single mom to welder to full-time instructor, breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation.
Leaders like Greg Wilson, who shares how applied technology programs are creating life-changing opportunities in high-demand industries.
Community advocates like Justin Lukasewicz and Karla Morales, who reveal how Pima is fueling leadership, innovation, and opportunity across Tucson and beyond.
Even though the idea of being on camera is scary and a bit intense for, once I sit down and start talking, my joy and curiosity take over and I get to find the heart in every story, that remind us that PCC is more than a college. It’s a home for possibility, transformation, and belonging.
So grab your headphones, because I can’t wait for you to continue with me on this journey of Pima Voices. I want to make you laugh, make you think, and maybe even inspire you to share your own story.
