
Jenny Coomler (11/14/1979-05/22/2023) was born in Ojai, California. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Business. She went on to a position as a Human Resources professional and manager at a local hospital and then at as a manager at a national insurance company at their office in Tucson. Her path went on to completing prerequisites for the Pima Community College nursing program while still working full-time. After graduating from Pima Community College, she was a patient care technician, cardiac bedside nurse, Quality Assurance Nurse, Case Manager, and Manager of a local hospital Case Management section. As a nurse, she was a fierce advocate for her patients and always ensured their voice was heard. She was known for sharing her passion and expertise with new graduates and tenured staff.

After an unimaginable and heroic eight-month fight, Jenny lost her life to cardiac sarcoma on May 22, 2023.
To honor Jenny’s memory, an award has been established at Pima Community College. The Jenny DeHaven Coomler Program supports Pima Community College students pursuing Nursing as their second career and in their last semester of the Nursing-AAS program.
