The family of Mrs. Muriel Kaufman established this scholarship in 2009 to honor her commitment to education and provide hope to students facing challenges in completing their education.
A member of the planning committee for Pima Community College in the 1960s, Mrs. Kaufman said, “I think my prime interest is in good education with equal opportunities for all children and youth. I feel an obligation to the community to contribute what I can so that our high standard of education is not only maintained but continually improved. I hope that my services will help in some way. Working with educational organizations is a rewarding experience for me.”

This scholarship is intended for students who meet the following criteria:

• PCC students enrolled either part-time or full-time in any program of study.
• Pursuing a degree or certificate.
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or better.
• Have financial need.
• Those who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. Must submit a letter of reference from a third party to verify community service.
