The Pima Voices podcast continues to shine a light on the people, programs, and partnerships that make Pima Community College such a powerful force in Southern Arizona. As we welcome the new year, we welcome a new group of meaningful conversations with inspiring leaders across our community.
We kicked off the year with Zulma Tapia, Pima Foundation’s Donor Relations Manager, who shared insight into the vital role donor support plays in student success and how meaningful partnerships help remove barriers for learners across the College. Her episode offered a behind-the-scenes look at how generosity is transformed into opportunity.
Last week, we welcomed John Gerard, Department Head of Building and Construction Technologies at Pima Community College. John gave listeners an exciting preview of the highly anticipated renovation of Pima’s construction technologies building, an investment that will expand hands-on training and prepare students for in-demand careers shaping our region’s future.
The conversations continue with an incredible lineup of upcoming guests, including Greg Taylor, PCC Governing Board member and Vice President of Community Affairs at Arizona Complete Health, who brings a unique perspective on leadership, advocacy, and the role education plays in community well-being.
We’re also proud to feature Isela Mejia, owner of El Sur and Chelas Latin Cuisine, whose passion for hospitality, entrepreneurship, and giving back recently led her to establish a scholarship fund supporting Pima’s hospitality students. Her story is a powerful example of how local business leaders invest in the next generation of talent.
Joining the conversation as well is Gemma Thomas, Pima Foundation Board member, along with many more voices from across education, industry, and the community, each sharing their own connection to Pima and their belief in the College’s mission.
So, I invite you to take a listen to new episodes of Pima Voices, as it is a way for us to share stories, makes connection and continue our collaboration with the community to highlight how education, philanthropy, and community leadership come together to create opportunity.
Be sure to subscribe, listen in, and stay tuned. The voices shaping Pima’s future are just getting started!
