Our recent Board Retreat brought us together at Pima Community College’s West Campus, hosted inside the newly renovated Center of Excellence in Health Professions. A new building designed to foster collaboration, forward-thinking leadership and shared purpose, an ideal setting for the day’s topic.
Pima Foundation board members and staff, along with College partners came together to experience firsthand how closely aligned we are in our commitment to the College and its students. Throughout the day, one theme rose to the surface again and again. When we work together, our impact multiplies. Each person in the room brings unique connections across Tucson including relationships with individuals, organizations, and partners who believe in the same mission. The opportunity lies in aligning those connections and amplifying a shared message to build meaningful, mission-driven partnerships.
The conversations were thoughtful and energizing, grounded in a collective understanding that we all have the College’s best interests at heart. By leaning into collaboration across roles, experiences, and networks, we open the door to new partnerships that strengthen Pima Community College and the communities it serves.
After lunch, the focus shifted to philanthropy and donor engagement, as our board members and staff were joined by representatives from Bank of America for a deeper, donor-centered discussion. Together, we explored important questions: How do we communicate effectively with donors? How do we clearly show impact? And how can we ensure our board members are equipped with the tools, confidence, and clarity they need to be successful ambassadors for the Foundation and the College?
The retreat was a meaningful reminder that progress happens when we listen, learn, and lead together. It was an enlightening and energizing day, one that reaffirmed our shared vision and strengthened the foundation for future collaboration, partnership, and impact.
