Gifts contributed to the Ethnic, Gender & Transborder Studies/Sociology Department will provide scholarships and additional program support to Pima Community College students.

Students enrolled in the Ethnic, Gender & Transborder Studies (EGTS) courses at Pima Community College gain an interdisciplinary perspective of the histories, cultures, socio-economic concerns, politics and identities of people of color and people of multiple genders and sexualities on their own terms. Coursework explores the stories, social movements, diasporas and achievements of historically marginalized peoples in the United States while attending to transborder and global perspectives.

The Pima Foundation manages three funds related to EGTS:


EGTS Scholarship

To be considered eligible, a Pima Community College student must meet the following criteria:

  • Have successfully completed at least 6 credits in any combination of courses from the EGTS disciplines (or cross-listed courses)
  • Have earned a grade point average at PCC of 2.5 or greater
  • Preference will be given to students who have declared the Ethnic, Gender and Transborder Studies (EGTS) concentration

EGTS Program

Funds support programmatic needs within the department including the annual EGTS Summit and the annual Raquel Rubio-Goldsmith Lecture


The Fundación Mexico Mexican American Studies Scholarship Endowment

The fund is established to provide scholarships to any eligible students of Mexican American Studies (MAS).
