This weekend, like many other nonprofits, we celebrated National Philanthropy Day. A day dedicated to recognizing generosity, collaboration, and shared purpose that make our region stronger. For Pima Foundation, this day is a reminder of why we do this work and the extraordinary impact that philanthropy makes possible for Pima Community College students every single day.
At its core, philanthropy is about belief, the belief in potential, in opportunity, and in the transformative power of education. When our donors give, they’re not just contributing funds. They’re investing in futures. They’re opening doors for students who are working toward better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. They’re fueling programs that strengthen our workforce, support innovation, and respond to Southern Arizona’s most pressing needs.
Through scholarships that ease financial burdens, program support that enhances learning spaces, and through partnerships that build new pathways to success, philanthropy is the foundation that allows Pima Community College to thrive.
It is also important to mention that National Philanthropy Day is a moment to honor the people behind the impact. This includes our supporters, alumni, community partners, and advocates who choose to uplift Pima students with their resources, time, and heart. Their generosity is woven into every student success story, every new program launch, and every opportunity created on our campuses.
Each day, we have the opportunity to reflect on the work that we do, and we are filled with gratitude. Each one of us at Pima Foundation can only do what we do because of the incredible community that stands with us. Thank you for believing in Pima and its students. Thank you for being part of a collective impact that will resonate for generations.
Here’s to the power of philanthropy and to the community that keeps it thriving.
