From Classic Cars to Career Pathways

Every year, the Tucson Street Rod Association brings together car enthusiasts, community members, and supporters for a day that celebrates craftsmanship, connection, and giving back. On April 11, Rodders Day once again returns to Pima Community College’s downtown campus, continuing a tradition that has made a lasting difference for students at the College.

For years, the Tucson Street Rod Association has been a dedicated supporter of Applied Technology programs at PCC. Their generosity helps ensure students pursuing hands-on careers in skilled trades have access to the training, tools, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Applied Technology programs prepare students for careers that keep our communities thriving in fields like automotive technology, construction, machining, and other essential skilled trades. These programs combine classroom instruction with real-world experience, allowing students to develop the practical skills employers are looking for.

Through events like Rodders Day, the Tucson Street Rod Association has helped strengthen these pathways for students. Their support reflects a deep understanding of the value of technical education and the important role it plays in building a strong local workforce.

Beyond the cars, engines, and craftsmanship on display, Rodders Day represents something bigger: a community coming together to invest in the future. Every year of support has helped create opportunities for PCC students to gain the skills that lead to stable careers and meaningful contributions to Southern Arizona’s economy.

Pima Foundation is incredibly grateful for the partnership that has been formed with the Tucson Street Rod Association and their continued commitment to education and workforce development. Partnerships like these demonstrate how passion and generosity can come together to drive real change.

We look forward to celebrating another Rodders Day on April 11 and honoring the many years of support that have helped PCC students move forward, one opportunity at a time.
