This season, Pima Community College basketball made history. Both the men’s and women’s teams showcased extraordinary talent, determination, and teamwork, proving once again that hard work and heart lead to greatness.
The Pima Men’s Basketball team delivered an unforgettable 2024-25 season, finishing with a phenomenal 35-1 record—a new single-season record for wins. Their dominance on the court carried them all the way to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, where they secured an impressive third-place finish.
Though they faced their first loss in the national semifinals against Parkland College, the Aztecs responded with resilience, defeating Kalamazoo Valley 103-88 to claim third place on the national stage. They also clinched their second consecutive Region I, Division II Championship, solidifying their place among the nation’s elite programs.
Not to be outdone, the Pima Women’s Basketball team had an incredible season of their own, finishing with a 28-5 record and making a deep run in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. They powered through to the Final Four after a dominant victory over Lincoln Land Community College, proving their championship mentality. Their journey to nationals was paved with success, as they secured their second Region I, Division II title in three years with a hard-fought win over Mesa Community College.
At Pima Foundation, we are incredibly proud of these student-athletes, their coaches, and everyone who contributed to this historic season. The entire athletic department’s dedication, teamwork, and perseverance embody the very spirit of excellence and opportunity that Pima Community College represents.
Congratulations to both teams on an extraordinary season! The future of Pima Basketball is brighter than ever, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
