Pima First: Sahuarita Wins Scholarship

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have graduated from a Sahuarita Unified School District high school including:

  • Sahuarita High School
  • Walden Grove High School
  • Sahuarita Digital Pathways Academy

Applicants must qualify for the Pima First Scholarship criteria:

  • Preference will be given to students who are not Pell eligible
  • High school graduates that will be starting their first semester of college at Pima Community College
  • The scholarship will cover up to 32 credit hours per academic year. (Minimum enrollment required of 6 credit hours per semester and a maximum of 16 credits per semester)
  • The scholarship will pay for general in-state tuition per semester, including the associated student services fees, semester processing fees, and technology fees. All other fees are not covered (no exceptions). Please note: books, course fees, differential tuition, and other fees are not covered
  • Applicants must provide a high school transcript demonstrating an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Preference will be given to current high school students who have participated in dual enrollment courses offered at your high school or joint technical education district (JTED) campus through a partnership with Pima Community College and have completed a minimum of 3 credit hours successfully with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at PCC
  • Applicants must be classified as Arizona residents at Pima through lawful presence verification
  • Applicants must be admitted as regular degree-seeking students taking courses applicable to their program of study at Pima
  • Applicants must not be enrolled at another institution during the scholarship award period
  • Applicants must not have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Applicants must use the award beginning the fall 2023 semester and maintain active enrollment at Pima for the duration of the scholarship period
  • Applicants must adhere to the Pima Community College Code of Conduct
  • Applicants must not have received a Pima Merit, Pima Excellence, or Pima Chancellor scholarship simultaneously (same semester)

All applicants must meet the renewal criteria listed below to remain eligible for the duration of the scholarship period

  • Applicants must enroll in a minimum of 6 or more credit hours per semester
  • Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA for the duration of the scholarship period
  • Applicants must successfully complete a minimum of 12 credits per academic year of college-level
    courses
  • The award is eligible for renewal up to three additional semesters – not including summers
