From Classic Cars to New Beginnings

There’s something special about fall in Tucson, there’s renewed energy in the air with events filling the calendar, but best of all, the temperatures finally settle into the comfortable 80s we all look forward to. Which brings me to mention an annual event, the Tucson Classics Car Show, a family-friendly celebration of classic cars, community pride, and life-changing opportunity.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Tucson, each year thousands gather to admire over 425 new and restored vehicles while supporting local nonprofits that help build a stronger, more resilient Tucson. This year, Pima Foundation is honored, once again, to be one of the primary beneficiaries, with proceeds supporting PimaSTART (Success Through Advanced Reskilling and Training) a transformative program changing lives across our community.

Through a powerful partnership between Pima Community College and the Gospel Rescue Mission’s Center of Opportunity, PimaSTART provides hands-on job training in high-demand fields like Building & Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Health & Safety, and Logistics/Truck Driving. The program is designed to open doors to careers that offer thrive-able wages and long-term stability while being completely debt-free for participants.

To date, more than 130 learners have already completed certifications in these career pathways, and the program anticipates serving over 300 participants in the coming years. Each graduate represents a story of resilience, opportunity, and hope.

Last year, the Rotary Club of Tucson presented Pima Foundation with a check for $112,575.54, proceeds from the 2024 Tucson Classics Car Show, an incredible gift that was further amplified through the Hillman Challenge match, doubling the impact for PimaSTART students.

Jennifer Hoffman, Co-Chair of last year’s Tucson Classics Car Show, shared it best:

“There’s a glaring need to address issues like mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness in our community. Programs like PimaSTART provide real solutions, offering a second chance to individuals looking to change their trajectory. The Gospel Rescue Mission partnership aligns perfectly with our Community Needs Assessment.”

And she’s right. PimaSTART isn’t just a training program, it’s a lifeline, creating pathways to independence, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose.

This year’s Tucson Classics Car Show takes place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Gregory School Campus (3231 N. Craycroft Rd). Admission is just $10, which includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2025 Corvette Stingray Coupe 1LT or $40,000 in cash!

Whether you’re a car enthusiast, a community supporter, or simply looking for a fun day with family and friends, we invite you to join us in driving change, one car, one ticket, and one life at a time.

Bring the family, enjoy food vendors, entertainment, and stunning cars under the Tucson sun.

And if you’re inspired to get even more involved, volunteer opportunities are available! Lend a hand, meet incredible people, and see firsthand how community partnership fuels transformation.

Together, we’re not just showcasing classic cars, we’re building classic Tucson values: hope, opportunity, and connection.
