Spotlight on Krissy King – The Queen of Data

With over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Krissy King brings a unique blend of data expertise, creative marketing, and a commitment to community impact to her role as Systems Administrator & Marketing Manager at Pima Foundation. Known for her skill in translating numbers into meaningful narratives, Krissy uses her data-geek side to drive strategies that engage and inspire stakeholders. Her diverse background—spanning roles in database management, corporate sponsorships, and nonprofit development—perfectly prepared her for her role at the Foundation, where she’s free to “geek out” over data while crafting new processes and breathing life into marketing initiatives.

Krissy’s journey is one filled with dedication to community-building and strategic engagement. After years working with nonprofits such as Earn to Learn and TMC Foundation, Krissy honed her skills in fundraising, donor relations, and program development. Her experience leading diverse teams in event planning and volunteer management has made her an invaluable resource for the Foundation, where her mission is to support equitable access to higher education for all.

Outside the office, Krissy’s passion for the outdoors is as vibrant as her data-driven career. From playing softball and hiking to DIY projects, she enjoys filling her time with creative and active pursuits. Though she’s lived across several states—from Tennessee to Connecticut—Krissy has called Tucson home for over 30 years, enjoying the sunny weather and outdoor opportunities the city offers. Her enthusiasm is matched only by her love for family, including her large pet family—two cats, Athena & Asteria, four dogs (Milo, Mochi, and new puppies BMO & Boba), two turtles, and six koi fish.

Looking to the future, Krissy envisions her role evolving alongside technological advancements, hoping to expand her expertise in AI, power automation, and data integration to streamline processes further. Her dedication to community and innovation has not only strengthened Pima Foundation but also left a lasting impact on Tucson’s nonprofit sector. We are fortunate to have her on our team, working toward a brighter, more accessible future for education in Southern Arizona.
