At the end of 2021, an announcement was made that would forever reshape the future of giving to Pima Community College. The Connie Hillman Family Foundation has long recognized Pima Community College as the cornerstone of workforce education in our region with Larry Adamson unveiling their extraordinary commitment, a challenge grant that would ignite a new era of philanthropy. This pledge not only excited donors but positioned Pima Foundation at the forefront of a transformative movement, ensuring lasting support for the college’s innovative programs and workforce development. For every $2 raised by Pima Foundation (up to $10,000,000), the Hillman Foundation will contribute $1, with a total commitment of up to $5,000,000. Over the past three years, we have worked diligently to meet this challenge, and today, we are nearing the finish line of what will be the largest private gift ever received by Pima Foundation. We received our Year 3 Quarter 2 check for $106,531, a substantial amount of money bringing us closer to a transformative goal—one that has the power to reshape the future of workforce development in Southern Arizona.
