July always feels like a fresh start for our team. As a new fiscal year begins, we have the opportunity to reflect on where we’ve been and focus on what’s ahead.
At Pima Foundation, every new fiscal year marks another opportunity to strengthen our mission of supporting Pima Community College and the students whose lives are transformed through education. Before we can look forward though, it’s impossible not to think about the year behind us, a year filled with milestones.
Scholarships opened doors for students pursuing their dreams. Donors invested in programs that prepare tomorrow’s workforce. Community partners came alongside us to create opportunities that reached far beyond the classroom. We celebrated graduates crossing the commencement stage, welcomed supporters at events across the district and watched students discover new possibilities through the generosity of those who believe in education.
Time and again this past year, we saw what happens when people invest in students. Scholarships were awarded, programs grew, and students found opportunities that might otherwise have been out of reach. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that our work is never really finished. Every semester, new students arrive at Pima carrying different goals, different challenges and the same hope, that education will open doors for them.
As we begin this new fiscal year, we are reminded about our dedication to Pima Community College.
We’re excited to deepen relationships with our donors, strengthen partnerships throughout Southern Arizona and continue creating opportunities that empower students to succeed. Whether it’s expanding scholarship support, enhancing academic programs, or investing in facilities and initiatives that enrich the student experience, every step forward brings us closer to building a stronger community.
The beginning of a new fiscal year is often measured by goals, budgets, and strategic plans. And while those things do matter, we must remember that behind every number is a person. A student receiving their first scholarship. A faculty member inspiring the next generation. A graduate beginning a new career, or even a donor whose generosity creates opportunities they may never personally see, but whose impact will be felt for years to come.
That’s what makes this work so meaningful. It’s not simply about what we accomplish over the next twelve months. It’s about the lives we’ll enrich along the way.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, our donors, alumni, community partners, faculty, staff, and friends, we thank you for believing in the power of education. Here’s to another year of opening doors, creating opportunity and investing in the future of Pima Community College one student, one partnership and one life at a time.
